
Laidley Earns MIAA Track Honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UNO freshman #Kathie-Lee Laidley# was named the Student-Athlete of the Week for track and field in the field events by the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association today. It's the first time she has won the award.
Laidley earned the second-best mark in the nation in the long jump with a leap of 19-0 ¾ at the Frank Sevigne Invitational. The freshman lost only to two Division I athletes. She has the best jump in the MIAA by three and a half inches.
This is the second time a UNO track and field athlete has earned one of the MIAA's weekly honors. Jumper #Nkeiruka Domike# earned the same award on Jan. 25.
The Mavericks return to action at two events this weekend. They'll be at the prestigious Tyson Invitational hosted by Arkansas on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 11 and 12. They'll also compete in the Concordia Indoor Invitational on Saturday.
