Maverick 200 Medley Relay Team Sets School Record

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The UNO swimming & diving team finished up the first day of the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships swimming in three different events at Palo Alto Natatorium on Wednesday.
Senior Cait Hopkins, junior Colleen Klaiber, sophomore Cami Hansberry and freshman Kylie Rathbone set a school record in the B final of the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:44.97, good for an 11th-place finish.
Rathbone and senior Laura Kemp both competed in the preliminary session for the 200 IM, where Kemp swam to a mark of 2:08:87, and Rathbone clocked in at 2:11:30.
Freshman Tiesha Scipio was the last Maverick to compete Wednesday, appearing in preliminary action for the 50-yard freestyle. She recorded a time of 24:55 in the morning.
The Mavericks return to the pool on Thursday for preliminary morning swims in the 200 freestyle relay, 400 IM and 100 butterfly.
