Mavs Swim Through Day Two of NCAA Championships

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The UNO swimming & diving team wrapped up the second day of the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships on Wednesday, swimming in three events at Palo Alto Natatorium.
Senior Cait Hopkins, junior Colleen Klaiber, sophomore Cami Hansberry and freshman Kylie Rathbone recorded their second B finals appearance in San Antonio, finishing 13th in the 200 freestyle relay.
Senior Laura Kemp competed in the preliminary session for the 400 IM, recording a time of 4:34:26. Kemp will compete in her last event on Friday in the 100 breast prelims.
Klaiber competed in the final event of the afternoon in preliminary action for the 100-yard butterfly fly. She recorded a time of 58:18, just .83 seconds short of qualifying for finals.
The Mavericks return to the pool on Friday for preliminary morning swims in the 100-yard backstroke, 100-yard breaststroke and the 800 freestyle relay.
