Mavs Tied For 10th After Day One at Tarleton State

GRANBURY, Texas - The UNO golf team is in a three-way tie for 10th place after the first round of the Doc Housewright Invitational hosted by Tarleton State. The Mavericks battled windy conditions in the opening round of the two-day tournament to finish with a team score of 334.

Host Tarleton State is in first place with a score of 306 followed by St. Edward's University (311) and Grand Canyon University (312). The Mavericks are tied with Western Washington and Angelo State.

Armana Christianson shot 40 on the front and back side to post a team-leading 80. That puts her in a tie for 23rd out of more than 100 golfers.

Ricca Soper was second for UNO and tied for 41st overall with a score of 83, one ahead of teammate Dani Suponchick who was third for the Mavs. Rebecca Pollock and Amy Powell each shot 87 to tie for fourth in team scoring.

Round two begins Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m.
