Mavericks Tie For Second at Drury Spring Shootout

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - #Ricca Soper# shot a team-best score in the final round to lead the UNO golf team to tie for second place at the Drury University Spring Shootout. It was the Mavericks' best finish of the spring season.
William Woods University of Fulton, Mo. won the tournament with a team score of 642 during the two-day tournament at the Rivercut Golf Course. The Owls finished just one stroke ahead of UNO and host Drury which finished at 643.
The tournament began the day with the completion of round one which had been suspended because of darkness on Saturday. The teams then played the second round.
Soper shot 76 in the final round, bouncing back from a team-high score of 84 in round one. She finished with a two-day score of 160, tying for fifth in the field of 78 golfers. #Armana Christianson shot an 80 on Sunday to tie with teammate Dani Suponchick# for second in team scoring with a two-day score of 162. Suponchick shot 85 on Sunday. The two players tied for 12th overall.
#Rebecca Pollock# had an 83 on Sunday to finish with a two-round score of 164, matching teammate #Amy Powell# who carded an 81 in the final round.
The Mavericks return to action on April 11 and 12 at the Tarleton State Invitational, their last tournament before the MIAA Championship. The Mavericks are two-time defending champions.
