2011 Methodist Hospital/UNO Women's Triathlon Information Packet
OMAHA, Neb. – The UNO swimming & diving team will partner with Methodist Hospital to host the annual Methodist Hospital/UNO Women's Triathlon on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 8 a.m., Head Coach Todd Samland has announced. The event will be held at Wehrspann Lake and Chalco Hills Recreation Area and features swimming, biking and walking/running portions to be selected by each participant.
Participants will begin with a 100-yard swim in Wehrspann Lake in small heats, followed by a two-, four- or six-mile bike through the park. The walk/run finale will be a half-mile, one-mile, or 1 1/2-mile effort on a trail on the west side of the lake. Since the event is non-competitive and is not timed, each participant can self-determine the length of the event they want to complete for biking and walking/running.
The non-refundable entry fee is $20 for registration and a t-shirt, and checks may be made payable to UNO. Late and race-day registration is $30. All proceeds go to the Maverick swimming & diving program.
