Mavericks Rank Second After First Day at Grinnell

Results
The UNO swimming & diving team is in second place behind Gustavus Adolphus College with 563 points after day one of the Grinnell Invitational. Gustavus Adolphus led the first day with 617 points, the Invitational is a two day event.
UNO finished the day with three first-place finishes. Sophomore Kylie Rathbone started off the Mavericks with a win in the 200-yard
individual medley with a time of 2:13.97 Freshman Lexi Bergeron clocked a time of 2:28.06 in the 200-yard breaststroke to give the Mavs their second win of the day. Junior Cami Hansberry brought in the third win in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.87.
Sophomore Jenna Foiles swam to a third-place finish in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:15.18.
Freshman Victoria Schab clocked a time of 1:03.05 in the 100-yard backstroke to finish in third-place.
Sophomore Hannah Alexander finished second in the 200-yard butterfly in a time of 2:19.34. Teammate junior Mattie Fosbender, finished less than a second behind Alexander in a time of 2:19.82, finishing in third.
UNO ended the day with a second-place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay consisting of senior Kylie Hubbell, sophomore Erin Wright, freshman Christen Young and Alexander in a time of 8:07.53.
The Mavericks will begin the second day of the Grinnell Invitational tomorrow, Jan. 21 at 9 a.m.
