Klaiber Breaks 100 Fly Record at NSISC Championshi

Day Three Results
CLEVELAND, Miss. – The UNO swimming & diving team wrapped up day three of the New South Intercollegiate Swim Conference Championships on Friday, highlighted by its second school record of the weekend at Delta State Aquatics Center.
Senior Colleen Klaiber shined in the 100 butterfly, with her time of 56.11 placing her third and breaking the previous UNO record set in 2005 by former Maverick Martina Zamecnik (56.37).
Nebraska Omaha was well-represented in the 100 breaststroke, as sophomore Kylie Rathbone had the top mark of 1:04.30, and sophomore Madeline Hutt added a fourth-place showing at 1:05.56. Junior Cami Hansberry also finished fourth in the 100 backstroke, notching a 58.99.
In the 400 individual medley, freshman Lexi Bergeron swam to a time of 4:36.90 for fourth, and fellow freshman Christen Young went 4:39.34 for sixth. Bergeron was also part of the Mavs' 800 freestyle relay, joining freshman Jenna Foiles and sophomores Whitney Korgan and Erin Wright to place fifth at 7:48.53. Korgan added a sixth-place effort in the 200 free (1:56.08).
Although Nebraska Omaha competes a full slate of events this weekend, the team is not eligible to win the conference championship. The Mavericks, who are reclassifying to NCAA Division I, can swim in any event but may not earn any points from their performances.
“This was another good day for our program,” Head Coach Todd Samland said. “More lifetime best swims and another school record with Colleen Klaiber's intense 100 fly. We're excited to close out the competition on a strong note tomorrow.”
The final day of the NSISC Championships is Saturday, Feb. 25 at Delta State Aquatics Center in Cleveland, Miss. Preliminary action begins at 10 a.m., and finals are set for 5 p.m.
