WICHITA FALLS, Texas - The UNO men's golf team opened the spring season finishing in a four-way tie for seventh at the Midwestern State Invitational on Tuesday. The tournament was shortened to one 18-hole round because of rain on Monday.
The Mavericks posted a team score of 308, putting them in a tie with Rogers State, Arkansas-Fort Smith and Northeastern State. Arkansas Tech won the 19-team event with a score of 298. Cameron and host Midwestern State finished tied for second at 300.
Karl Krieser led the Mavericks with a score of 74 to finish in a tie for ninth. He was particularly sharp on the way out, opening with a score of 36 on the front nine. Mitch Johnson, Taylor Sidzyik and Alex Holtan tied for second for UNO and tied for 39th overall with scores of 78.
Michael Shukis concluded the scoring for UNO with a score of 82.
The Mavericks are back in action on April 1-3 at Western Illinois.
