OMAHA, Neb. – The Omaha swimming and diving team tied for third in the Summit League's swimming and diving preseason coaches' poll released by the conference office Thursday.
League newcomer UNO received 23 points to match with IUPUI for third. Oakland took first-place with six first place votes and a total of 36 points. South Dakota State was second with 28 points and one first-place vote. Filling in the three spots behind Omaha were South Dakota (19 points), Eastern Illinois (10 points) and Western Illinois (eight points).
The Mavericks will host the Red/Black Alumni meet on Oct. 5 and begin their regular-season schedule on Oct. 15 at Air Force. Omaha will begin league competition on Nov. 2 at South Dakota.
