Mav Men Ninth in Preseason Golf Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. - The Omaha men's golf team was picked ninth in the annual preseason Summit League Coaches Poll. The Mavericks are in their first full season of play in the league.
Kansas City was picked to repeat as the Summit League men's champion. The 'Roos received 60 points in the voting including seven first-place votes. North Dakota State was picked second with 52 points and one first-place vote followed by Fort Wayne with 46 points. The complete poll appears below.
The Mavericks competed in six events during the fall and won the Concordia University Invitation on Sept. 17. Karl Krieser and Alex Overfelt tied for the team scoring lead during the fall with each posting a scoring average of 77. Krieser came on strong at the end of the fall, posting the top three 18-hole scores of the season so far including a 71 in the first round of the Houston Baptist Husky Invitational on Oct. 22.
UNO will resume play in the spring half of their season on March 11 and 12 at the Sacramento State Intercollegiate. The Summit League Championship will be held on April 22-24 in Keller, Texas.
