Mavericks Run Sixth at Summit League Championship

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Omaha cross country team concluded its second season in the Summit League with a sixth-place finish at the league championship on Saturday morning.
The Mavericks finished with 156 points. North Dakota State won its third straight Summit League women's title with 25 points. South Dakota State was second with 47 points while South Dakota finished third with 66 points.
IUPUI was fourth (84) while the host team, Fort Wayne, was fifth (123). Western Illinois was seventh (207).
Lindsey Bruns finished out a strong freshman campaign, leading the Mavs for the third time this season. She placed 25th overall with a time of 22:57.4. Kristin Rogers earned a new personal-best 6K time of 22:59.5, finishing 27nd overall.
MiKayla Peck ran a career-best time of 23:21.8, shaving two seconds off of her previous best. She placed 31st overall. Katarina Zarudnaya finished fourth for the Mavs and 35th overall with a time of 23:35.9. Ashley Kildow completed the scoring, posting a time of 23:54.4 and placing 38nd overall.
Also competing for the Mavericks were Catherine Davison (40th/24:01.4) and Kristen Carmichael (45rd/24:55.9).
