ROCHESTER, Mich. – The Omaha swimming and diving team opened the first day of the 2013 Summit League Championships in third place with 64 points on Wednesday at OU Aquatics Center.
The highlight of the competition was a school record set by the 200 medley relay team made up of seniors Cami Hansberry and Anna Haxby, junior Madeline Hutt and sophomore Jenna Foiles. The team placed third in the event with a time of 1:44.23.
The 800 free relay team of juniors Whitney Korgan and Erin Wright, freshman Natalie Renshaw and senior Mattie Fosbender had another third-place effort for Omaha, clocking a time of 7:37.06.
Oakland sits in first place with 80 points. IUPUI is just ahead of UNO in second with 68. Eastern Illinois (58), South Dakota State (56), South Dakota (54) and Western Illinois (48) round out the standings.
Omaha continues competition Thursday, Feb. 21 through Saturday, Feb. 23.
