Spenner To Compete in USA Championship

OMAHA, Neb. - UNO multi-eventer Sami Spenner will be competing in the USA Indoor Track & Field Championships this weekend in Albuquerque, N.M.
Spenner will compete in the pentathlon on Friday, an event in which she was the Summit League champion and in which she set the school record with 4,126 points earlier this season. She also will compete in the long jump on Saturday, an event she also won at the Summit League Indoor Championship and owns the school record (20-05 1/4).
Spenner is not eligible to compete in the NCAA Indoor Championship next weekend because UNO is in the middle of its four-year reclassification to Division I. If eligible, Spenner would rank sixth in the NCAA in the penatathlon and in a tie for 17th in the long jump.
Spenner also was the Summit League's triple jump champion and was named the Field Championship MVP and a member of the the All-Summit League Team. She finished the championship by earning 40 points individually for the Mavericks in addition to running the anchor leg on their second-place 4x400 meter relay that earned eight points and clinched the runner-up finish.
