LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The Omaha men's golf team couldn't make a move in round three and finished in 11th place at the First Tee Classic hosted by Arkansas Little Rock on Tuesday at Chenal Country Club.
The Mavericks finished with a three-round score of 974 after finishing with a team score of 325 on Tuesday. Southeastern Louisiana won the event with a team score of 912 followed by Stephen F. Austin at 917 and host Arkansas Little Rock at 921.
Karl Krieser had UNO's best score in round three, carding a 77 to finish at 234, 18-over-par to lead the Mavericks in scoring. He finished in a tie for 23rd overall. Alex Overfelt was second for the Mavs and finished in a tie for 32nd overall with a 54-hole score of 237. He shot 79 in the final round.
Mitch Ryan carded an 82 on Tuesday and posted a three-round score of 244 to finish in a tie for 48th. Taylor Sidzyik shot 89 in the final round and posted a two-day total of 261, fourth for UNO and 63rd overall. Alex Holtan had an 87 on Tuesday and finished at 266.
Michael Shukis, who missed the first two rounds due to illness, played on Tuesday and shot 81.
The Mavericks face a quick turnaround, returning to action on Friday and Saturday at the Beu Mussatto Invitational at Western Illinois.
