The 2013 Maverick Awards Banquet will be held on Sunday, April 28 at the Embassy Suites LaVista. The night begins with a social at 6 p.m. followed by the dinner and program at 6:30 p.m. A table of 10 costs $350 while the cost per person is $35. The general public is invited to attend this celebration of UNO's student-athletes. More information is below.
Beginning in 2010, the University of Nebraska Omaha athletic department began an annual tradition of honoring its senior student-athletes as well as underclass athletes with a gala event, the Senior Night and Awards Banquet, renamed the Maverick Awards Banquet for 2013. Regularly drawing all student-athletes, their families, university and athletic staff and community supporters, the event is a showcase for the athletic and academic excellence of UNO's teams and athletes.
As part of the event, awards are presented to several student-athletes for their accomplishments during the previous year. The awards include:
Student-athletes also are recognized for conference and national awards such as All-American status and academic achievement such as Dean's List and Chancellor's List.
In 2012, all of UNO's approximately 250 student-athletes attended the event with family and friends, bringing the overall attendance to more than 450 people.

- Connie Claussen Senior Career Arhievement Award (Female)
- Bob Kruger Commitment Award - Community Service
- Dr. John Langan Phoenix Award - Overcoming adversity
- Strength and Conditioning Awards (Male and Female)
- Newcomer of the Year Awards (Male and Female)
- Male Athlete of the Year Award
- Marian Ivers Female Athlete of the Year Award
- Maverick Cup - Team achievement
