First Two Rounds Net Mavs Fourth at NDSU

OXBOW, N.D. – Mitch Ryan put up UNO's best score, and the Omaha men's golf team is in fourth place after the first two rounds of the Erv Kaiser Invitational hosted by North Dakota State.

The Mavericks have a team score of 618 through the first 36 holes at the Oxbow Country Club. Manitoba leads with a score of 592, just 16 over par. Host North Dakota State is in second at 609, and Minot State is third at 613.

Ryan put up rounds of 77-74 to sit in a tie for seventh overall. One of the players he's tied with is teammate Lucas Gervais who went 76-75 while playing as an individual. His score does not count toward the team total.

Alex Overfelt is just one shot back and tied for ninth with scores of 80-72-152. Taylor Sidzyik is third for the Mavs and tied for 21st following rounds of 81 and 76 for a total of 157.

Alex Holtan sits in fourth for UNO and tied for 28th following rounds of 81-78-159 while Karl Krieser fired back-to-back rounds of 80 and sits in a tie for 33rd at 160.

The final round begins with shotgun start at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
