Mavs Put 50 on Summit's Academic Honor Roll

ELMHURST, Ill. – Fifty Omaha student-athletes were recognized by The Summit League today as members of its Academic Honor Roll for the fall season.
In all, 463 Summit League student-athletes from the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball were honored for their academic excellence.
Fort Wayne secured a league-best 66 student-athletes on the Fall Academic Honor Roll followed closely by IUPUI's 64 honorees. South Dakota State and Western Illinois tied for third with 54 recipients each, while North Dakota State had 52 student-athletes followed by the Mavericks. Denver and South Dakota each placed 47 student-athletes to the list. Associate men's soccer members Eastern Illinois and Oral Roberts placed 15 and 14 student-athletes on the team, respectively.
In order to be selected to the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better grade-point average (GPA) in the semester in which they compete and must use a year of eligibility. In order to be named a Distinguished Scholar, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.60 GPA.
The list of Academic Distinguished Scholars was announced Thursday.
