Mavericks Beat Kearney in Senior Day Meet, 141-109

OMAHA, Neb. – In the final home meet of the 2013-14 season, the Omaha swimming and diving team bested Nebraska-Kearney, 141-109.
UNO opened Saturday's afternoon meet strong; taking first and second place in the 200-yard medley relay.
Senior Hannah Alexander took a first-place finish in the 1000-yard free (11:27.50) and junior Morgan Cullison took second (11:28.65). Alexander, a Topeka, Kan., native, added a second top-finish in the 100-yard breast (1:08.80) while freshman Jamie Dhabalt followed in second place (1:10.24).
Junior Jenna Foiles clocked 2:01.28 in the 200-yard free to earn nine points for Omaha. Freshman Mackenzie Ritter took second in the same race (2:04.80).
Freshman Hayley Duncan grabbed a first-place finish in the 100-yard back (1:03.68).
Senior Madeline Hutt followed freshman Morgan Stepp (2:13.74) in the 200-yard fly to take second place (2:25.09). Stepp also took first in the 100-yard free.
Seniors Whitney Korgan and Erin Wright took first and second place in the 50-yard free, respectively.
Five Maverick seniors were honored at the meet.
“The seniors did a great job today,” said head coach Todd Samland. “They will be missed by the team, as well as by me.”
Omaha is preparing to finish the season at the Summit League Championships being hosted by IUPUI in Indianapolis, Ind., Feb. 19 – 22.
