
Omaha Picked Fourth in Preseason Swimming Poll

ELMHURST, Ill. – The Omaha swimming & diving team has been picked to finish fourth in the Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll released Thursday afternoon by the league office.
Omaha was voted fourth with two points separating them from IUPUI in third. The Mavericks are led by sophomore Morgan Stepp, the defending Summit League 200 fly champion.
Denver was tabbed the preseason favorite to defend its Summit League championship from 2013-14. The Pioneers captured the top spot with six first-place tallies.
South Dakota State edged out IUPUI by one point to finish second and received the final first-place vote. After Omaha in fourth, South Dakota, Eastern Illinois and Western Illinois round out the final three spots in the women's poll.
Omaha opens the 2014-15 season on Saturday, Oct. 11, traveling to in-state foe Nebraska. The meet is set to start at 11 a.m. at the Devaney Center Natatorium in Lincoln, Neb.
