Mavs Gain Ground at Kansas Classic, Remain Fourth

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Omaha swimming & diving team closed day two at the Kansas Classic with 256 points, gaining ground on third-place Northern Iowa. Omaha was paced all day by junior Natalie Renshaw, who scored points in two of the five individual events on the day leading all Mavs.
Renshaw took fourth in the 200 free, posting a season-best time of 1:53.67. The Millard North alum also put together a top-10 finish in the 100 back, establishing a team-best time of 58.17 for the season.
Sophomore Morgan Stepp and senior Jenna Foiles both eclipsed individual season-best times for the 200 free. Stepp posted a time of 1:56.97, while Foiles finished right behind her, touching the wall at 1:57.02.
The 200 medley relay team of Renshaw, Stepp, Foiles and sophomore Jamie Dhabalt placed eighth, finishing with the fastest time of the season for any Mav quartet in the event (1:50.41).
Foiles, Renshaw and Stepp were also members of the 800 free relay team, along with freshman Cassie Jahn, finishing fifth in the event with a season-best time of 7:55.21.
The Mavericks close out the Kansas Classic on Sunday with prelims slated to begin at 9 a.m. and the final heats scheduled for 3 p.m. at Capitol Federal Natatorium.
