Ahrens Earns Summit T&F Athlete of Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Omaha's track & field athlete Stephanie Ahrens was named The Summit League's Indoor Track and Field Athlete of the Week for her performances during the week of Dec. 9-15.
Ahrens collects her first career Athlete of the Week honor after leading Omaha at the K-State Winter Invitational on Dec. 13. The freshman placed second in both the high jump and triple jump events. Her high jump mark of 5'10” (1.78m) tied the school record, ranks second in The Summit League and would rank sixth nationally. She registered a mark of 36'2.25” (11.03m) in the triple jump which ranks sixth in the league.
The Mavericks do not compete again until Jan. 16-17 at the Holiday Inn Invitational at Nebraska.
