Women's Golf Signs Three

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha women's golf head coach Tim Nelson announced today the signing of three student-athletes to National Letters of Intent on Wednesday.
Mandy Boyle (Moorhead, Minn.), Morgan Miller (Bemidji, Minn.) and Jordan York (Scottsbluff, Neb.) all will join the Mavericks in the 2015-16 academic year.
“We were looking to improve our depth with players who already had a good competitive foundation and could help us compete for a Summit League title,” said Nelson. “These three players all have had very good high school careers, and they come to UNO as great players, students and people.”
Both Boyle and Miller will compete in their senior seasons this spring while York recently completed her senior season.
Boyle was a captain for Moorhead Senior High School as a junior and the team MVP. A three-year letter winner, she was the Fargo-Moorhead All-City Champion last season and finished third overall at the Section 8AAA state qualifier. She finished the regular season for the Spuds with five top-5 finishes.
Miller is a three-year letter winner at Bemidji High School. She has been a Minnesota Golf Association junior team state participant in each of the last four years and was the state champion this past summer.
York led Scottsbluff High School to a state championship this past fall while also finishing as individual medalist. It was the second straight team title for York who finished ninth overall as junior to help the Bearcats win in 2013. York was the individual medalist in seven tournaments as a senior and also was the runner up at the district tournament. The four-year letter winner also placed fifth at the most recent Nebraska Junior Amateur tournament.
The Mavericks begin their spring season at the GCU Invitational hosted by Grand Canyon on Monday and Tuesday, Feb. 23-24.
