DUNNELLON, Fla. – The Omaha women's golf team finished in 16th place at the MSU Ocala Spring Invitational on Tuesday at the Julliete Falls Golf Resort.
The Mavericks shot a tournament best team score of 326, down 10 strokes from their round two total, to finish at 1,004. Daytona State College finished a wire-to-wire win with a score of 889, boasting the top two finishers in a field of 91 golfers. Houston Baptist was the runner up at 895 while North Florida took third at 902.
Sophie Peters had UNO's best score in round three at 75 and finished with a team-best total of 231, good for a tie for 32nd overall. Katie Kesti was second for the Mavs and tied for 57th overall at 238, a total that included a round of 77 on Tuesday.
Kat Slump was third for UNO. Her score of 90 in round three put her at 265 for the tournament. Makenna Kroeker was fourth at 270 including a personal tournament best round of 84 on Tuesday.
The Mavericks return to action at the Saluki Invitational on Sunday and Monday, March 30-31, at Carbondale, Ill.
