Mavericks Move Up on Final Day at Little Rock

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Omaha men's golf team gained ground in the final round and finished in 10th place at the UALR/First Tee Classic on Tuesday at the Chenal Country Club.
On a day with challenging weather conditions, the Mavericks shot a team score of 316 to finish at 926. Louisiana Monroe won the event with a team total of 889 followed by Sam Houston State at 893. McNeese State was third at 895.
Alex Overfelt was Omaha's top scorer, finishing the tournament with a score of 74 for a three-round total of 226. That put him in a tie for 11th in the 75-player field. Taylor Sidzyik was second for the Mavs and tied for 36th overall with a total score of 232 that included a round of 80 on Tuesday.
Karl Krieser finished in a tie for 42nd after carding an 83 in round three for a total score of 234. Mitch Ryan closed with an 82 for a total of 238, putting him fourth for the Mavs and in a tie for 59th overall.
Alex Holtan carded an 80 for a 54-hole score of 243, putting him in a tie for 68th. Miles Russell, playing as an individual, posted a line of 88-83-87 in the tournament for a score of 258.
The Mavericks get back into action on Monday and Tuesday, March 31-April 1 at the Wallace Jones Tournament at Louisiana Monroe.
