MONROE, La. – The Omaha men's golf team is in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Wallace Jones Tournament hosted by Louisiana Monroe on Monday.
The Mavericks posted team rounds of 308 and 311 to sit at 619 for the first 36 holes. Host Louisiana Monroe holds the top spot at 586 followed by Arkansas-Little Rock at 592. Oral Roberts is in third at 601.
Karl Krieser had UNO's best round of the day, playing the first 18 holes at 75. He closed with a 79 in the afternoon for a score of 154, putting him in a tie for 24th. Alex Overfelt and Mitch Ryan are right behind in a tie for 28th with a total of 155 after identical rounds of 77 and 78.
Taylor Sidzyik shot back-to-back rounds of 79 to sit at 158, good for a tie for 43rd. Alex Holtan was fifth for the Mavericks and in a tie for 48th after shooting 83-76-159.
The final round begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
