CARBONDALE, Ill. – The Omaha women's golf team battled through the final round of Saluki Invitational on Tuesday, finishing in 12th place.
The Mavericks posted a team score of 352 in the second round to finish at 684. Host Southern Illinois won the event with a total score of 617, easily outdistancing runner up Indiana State at 631. Chicago State was third at 638.
Katie Kesti had UNO's best round with an 80 on Tuesday to lead the Mavericks with a two-day total of 161. She tied for 18th overall. Sophie Peters closed with a score of 87 to finish at 163, putting her in a tie for 23rd.
Kat Slump posted a second round score of 93 to finish at 177, good for a tie for 61st. Makenna Kroeker finished the scoring for the Mavs, carding a 92 to close with a 36-hole score of 183 that put her in 71st place.
The Mavericks return to action on Monday and Tuesday, April 7-8 at the Gary Crossley Ford Kansas City Shootout.
