Mavericks Finish Day 1 at Doane Relays

CRETE, Neb. – The Omaha track and field team finished up day one of the Doane Relays with one first-place finish and multiple top eight finishes.
The Maverick 4x800 meter relay team consisting of Ashley Kildow, Lauren Psota, Alyssa Thavenet and Katarina Zarudnaya picked up the lone win for the Mavs, finishing with a time of 9:20.58.
In the 10,000 meter run, Kristin Rogers finished runner-up with a time of 39:14.82 while MiKayla Peck finished third with a time of 41:18.64. In the 5,000 meter run, Catherine Davison set a new PR and finished third with a time of 19:00.02.
In the field events, Megan Adams set a new PR in the hammer throw (119-11) and the javelin throw (102-07), finishing ninth and 10th, respectively. Macy Woitzel (116-09), Liz Thompson (106) and Jessica Ripp (96-03) also competed in the event finishing fifth, ninth and 12th.
Omaha will wrap-up competition at the Doane Relays tomorrow from the Lauritsen Outdoor Track starting at 11 a.m. A link to live video and stats will be available at OMavs.com.
