Kesti Leads Mavericks at Summit Championship

KELLER, Texas – Katie Kesti is in 14th place overall to lead the Omaha women's golf team on the second day of play at the Summit League Championship.
Kesti shot an 83 in round two and leads the Mavericks with a 36-hole total of 161 at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
Sophie Peters, who missed Monday's first round due to illness, also shot 83 in the second round to tie Kesti for the Mavericks' low round of the day. Because UNO had just three golfers on Monday, one below the minimum, they will not be able to earn a team score.
Denver continues to lead after shooting a team round of 300 on Tuesday that puts it at 595 for the championship, a full 43 strokes clear of second place IUPUI which sits at 638. North Dakota State is third at 639.
Makenna Kroeker is second in scoring for the Mavericks and tied for 30th after shooting an 87 in round two that has her 172 for the championship. Kat Slump is third for UNO at 183 after shooting 90 in round two.
The women begin the final round at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
