Ryan Cards 75, Mavs Seventh at Summit Championship

KELLER, Texas – Mitch Ryan shot his second straight round of 75 to lead the Omaha men's golf team on the second day of play at the Summit League Championship.
Ryan is in a tie for ninth place with a two-round total of 150. His round on Tuesday featured a strong back nine. He shot eight straight pars before birdieing the par-five 18th hole.
The Mavericks have shot back-to-back team scores of 309 and remain in seventh place with a total score of 618. However, the Mavericks are just seven shots out of fourth place.
IUPUI took over the lead on day two after shooting a team round of 296 that has it at 592 for the championship. Denver, the first-round leader, is second at 600 after a team score of 308. Fort Wayne, which had the day's best team score of 293, is third at 609. The Mastodons began the day in last place.
Karl Krieser, who was tied with Ryan after the first round, is second in scoring for the Mavericks and tied for 14th overall with a score of 152. He shot 77 on Tuesday, a round marred by a six-over score of 42 on the front side. He finished with three birdies on the back.
Alex Overfelt is third for the Mavericks after battling his way through a round of 80 on Tuesday to put him at 158 for the championship. He's tied with teammate Taylor Sidzyik for 28th overall. Sidzyik posted a 77 in round two.
Alex Holtan closed the scoring for the Mavericks with an 80 on Tuesday that puts him at 165 for the championship.
The men begin the final round at 9:54 a.m. on Wednesday at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
