Mavericks Play Final Round at Summit Championship

KELLER, Texas – Katie Kesti posted the Omaha women's golf team's top score to close the Summit League Championship on Wednesday at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
Although she struggled through a final round of 87, Kesti posted a 54-hole score of 248 to finish in 21st place. She finished at 32-over-par for the championship.
Because the Mavericks could not field the minimum four players until the second round, they did not qualify for a team score. League newcomer Denver won the Summit League Championship in dominating fashion, finishing at 887 for the tournament, 71 strokes ahead of runner up North Dakota State with 958. IUPUI was third at 962.
Sophie Peters, who missed the first round due to illness, had UNO's best round of the day at 83, repeating her feat from the second round.
Makenna Kroeker was second in scoring for the Mavs with a total score of 256 that included a round of 84 on Wednesday. She finished in a tie for 30th. Kat Slump carded a 91 in round three to finish at 274, putting her in 38th place.
