Mavericks Tie For Seventh at Summit Championship

KELLER, Texas – The Omaha men's golf team finished in a tie for seventh at the Summit League Championship on Wednesday at the Sky Creek Ranch Golf Club.
Karl Krieser, who was named to the All-Summit League second team prior to the championship, led the Mavericks in scoring with a 54-hole score of 228 that included a final round card of 76. His round was highlighted by an eagle on the par-five 15th hole. He finished 10th overall, his fourth top 10 finish of the season.
The Mavericks tied Western Illinois with a championship team score of 935. The Mavs shot 317 in the final round.
Denver completed a sweep of both the men's and women's championships, winning with a team score of 898, edging runner-up IUPUI at 903. South Dakota State was third at 911.
Alex Overfelt was second for the Mavs and tied for 26th overall at 235. He shot 77 in the third round. Mitch Ryan, who was UNO's leading scorer through two rounds, fought through the final round to shoot a score of 86 and a three-day total of 236, putting him in a tie for 29th.
Taylor Sidzyik shot 84 on Wednesday for a 54-hole total of 242, putting him 36th. Alex Holtan completed the scoring at 245 that including a third round card of 80. He finished in a tie for 37th.
