Spenner Places Fifth in Triple Jump at Drake

DES MOINES, Iowa - Senior Sami Spenner placed fifth in the triple jump at the Drake Relays on Saturday morning.
The Columbus, Neb. native jumped 40-10 1/2 to place fifth in the 25-person field. Spenner also competed in the long jump yesterday at the Drake Relays, finishing third with a leap of 20-01 1/4.
The Mavericks will be back in action next weekend at the Howard Wood Relays in Sioux Falls, S.D. on May 2-3. The meet, which is hosted by the city of Sioux Falls, will get underway at 11 a.m. on Friday and then resume at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
