KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Omaha women's golf team is in 15th place after the first two rounds of the Gary Crossley Ford Kansas City Shootout on Monday.
The Mavericks shot 337-343-680 over the first 36 holes, putting them last in the field. They are playing with just the minimum of four players for the third straight tournament. Wichita State leads the field with a score of 607. South Dakota State is second at 618, and host UMKC is third at 627.
Katie Kesti led the Mavericks on day one with a score of 157 that include a team-best score of 77 in round two. She's tied for 19th in the field of 85.
Sophie Peters is second for UNO and tied for 52nd overall with a 36-hole score of 166 after rounds of 82 and 84. Makenna Kroeker is third for the Mavs, shooting 88-82 for a total score of 170, putting her in a tie for 68th.
Kat Slump is fourth for UNO and 84th overall with a score of 187.
The final round begins on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. from Shoal Creek Golf Club.
