JONESBORO, Ark. – Karl Krieser and Alex Holtan are tied for 10th overall, leading the Omaha men's golf team to fourth place after the first day of play at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate on Monday.

The Mavericks posted a score of 590 after team rounds of 296 and 294, putting them just one stroke out of third. The round of 294 is their second lowest of the season.

Host Arkansas State leads with a score of 580, followed by Belmont at 582. Illinois State is third at 589.

Krieser and Holtan each shot 74-72 for a total of 146 after the first 36 holes at the RidgePoint Country Club. Holtan's second-round 72 ties his low round of the season.

Alex Overfelt is just two strokes behind his teammates at 148, carding rounds of 75 and 73 to put him in a tie for 16th. Taylor Sidzyik is fourth for the Mavs and in a tie for 29th overall with a score of 75-77-152.

Mitch Ryan is fifth for UNO at 154 with rounds of 73 and 81 that have him in a tie for 48th.

Lucas Gervais, playing as an individual, shot 81-88-169 to rank 107th overall in a massive field that features 21 teams.

The final round begins at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
