Krieser Leads Mavs To Fourth at Arkansas State

JONESBORO, Ark. – Karl Krieser tied his career best 54-hole score to lead the Omaha men's golf team to fourth place at the ASU Red Wolf Intercollegiate hosted by Arkansas State on Tuesday.
Krieser shot 219 to finish in a tie for ninth overall, his team-best third top-10 finish this year. He closed play with a score of two-over-par 73, part of a strong effort by the Mavericks who tied their season-best 18-hole team score of 292.
The Mavericks finished with a 54-hole team score of 882, their best outing of the season. Host Arkansas State won the 21-team event with a score of 862. Belmont was second at 874, and Illinois State was third at 878.
Alex Overfelt shot UNO's best round on Tuesday with a 72 and finished tied with teammate Alex Holtan for second in team scoring and 13th overall at 220. Holtan carded a 74 in the final round.
Taylor Sidzyik was fourth for the Mavericks and tied for 25th in the huge field of 110 golfers with a score of 225 that including a final round tally of 73. Mitch Ryan completed the scoring for the Mavs with a round of 75 that put him at 229 for the tournament, good for a tie for 43rd.
Lucas Gervais, playing as an individual, shot 78 in round three and 247 for the event.
The Mavericks have a week off before finishing their season at the Summit League Championship in Keller, Texas on April 21-23.
