Seven Mavs Named Summit Track & Field All-League

ELMHURST, Ill. – Seven members of the Omaha track & field team were named to the Summit League outdoor all-league team today.
To earn a spot on the all-league team, athletes must finish in the top three of an event at the outdoor championship which was held last weekend at Fargo, N.D.
Those Mavericks earning a spot on the team included Terri Armstrong, Kathie-Lee Laidley, Nicole Liske, Lauren Psota, Sami Spenner, Alyssa Thavenet and Liz Thompson. Spenner finished in the top three six different events, including repeat wins in the heptathlon, long jump and triple jump, and was a member of both relay teams.
No other Summit League athlete, male or female, finished in the top three in more than five events.
Laidley finished in the top three in the 100 meter hurdles, high jump and long jump and was a member of the 4 x 100 relay. Armstrong was a member of both relays while Liske (4 x 100), Psota (4 x 400) and Thavenet (4 x 400) all competed in a relay. Thompson finished third in the shot put with a career best mark.
