Another First For Spenner at Dakota Relays

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Sami Spenner won the long jump on the second day of competition for the Omaha track & field team at the Howard Wood Dakota Relays.
Spenner won the event with a jump of 18-11 ¾, more than a foot farther than the runner up. It was the second win for Spenner who won the triple jump on Friday. Jessica Ripp took fifth in Saturday's long jump with a leap of 16-04 ½.
In the discus, Liz Thompson was ninth with a throw of 135-00.
On the track, Catherine Davison ran the 1,500 meters in a time of 5:02.09, just ahead of Jackie Mezick who set a new personal best with a time of 5:06.35.
The Mavericks return to action on Saturday, May 10 at the Nebraska Invitational in Lincoln. It will be their final meet before the Summit League Championship.
