Mavs Finish Weekend in Sixth at Kansas Classic

TOPEKA, Kan. – The Omaha swimming & diving team closed its run at the Kansas Classic Sunday afternoon, finishing in sixth place with a score of 123 points.
Omaha's top two individual scorers for the weekend, senior Natalie Renshaw and junior Tiril Jensen, were named to the meet's all-star team.
In the final six events of the weekend, Omaha added four season-best times. Renshaw added to her impressive weekend with her performance in the 100 free, finishing with a season-low time of 51.77 in the event.
In the 200 breast, junior Morgan Stepp and Jensen went to the wire, with Stepp finishing just two-tenths of a second in front of her teammate at 2:25.97 – a season-low time, which bested her previous top time in the event. Jensen touched the wall just after Stepp at 2:25.99.
The 400 free relay foursome of Renshaw, junior Meredith Ricks, sophomore Cassie Jahn and freshman Kirsten Kracke throttled through the event, shattering the previous top time this season by over two and a half seconds at 3:35.99.
Ricks, swimming in her native Topeka, thrived in the 200 back, registering a season-low time of 2:08.99 in the stacked event.
Omaha returns to action the weekend of Dec. 4-5 for its annual Mutual of Omaha Invite at HPER Pool.
