
PRs For Mavericks in Summit Tune Up at Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. – Personal bests highlighted a day of competition for the Omaha track & field team at the Nebraska Invitational on Saturday.
In the hurdles, Stephanie Ahrens had a personal best time of 14.87 at 100 meters. Maddie Buller also had a personal best running in the 400 meters hurdles, clocking a time of 1:05.01 to finish in fifth place. She finished one place ahead of teammate Madeline Glesinger who came in at 1:05.69.
Also on the track, Tschida Johnson had a new PR in the 100 meters with a time of 13.19, good for third place. Johnson also placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 27.55
In the 400 meters, Hannah Fowler was eight with a time of 58.63, just ahead of teammate Alyssa Thavenet who set a new personal best with a time of 59.31.
Katarina Zarudnaya was second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:39.87 while Kayla Sabotin was sixth with a time of 5:02.51.
In the 3,000 meters, Ashley Kildow was second in a time of 10:07.08 while Rosie Gensichen took fifth with a personal best time of 10:44.88 PR. Alyssa Averhoff was seventh at 11:14.83 while Perla Gutierrez finished eighth in 11:23.80.
In the field, Emily Everitt was fifth in the high jump with a mark of 5-05, ahead of Taryn Derickson who posted a leap of 5-01.
Payton Horacek was eighth in the long jump with a mark of 17-10 ¼ while Nicole Liske was ninth at 17-06 ¼.
In the discus, Megan Adams finished third with a throw of 116-03, edging out teammate Lauren Doeschot who was fourth with a personal best mark of 114-07. Amanda Colin was fifth at 114-05.
The Mavericks will now prepare for the Summit League Championship which begins on Wednesday, May 13 at Macomb, Ill. It will be their last meet of the season.
