Final Arena Tour in August's Maverick Minutes

OMAHA, Neb. - With the opening of Baxter Arena now just months away, Maverick Minutes took one last tour of the building for a construction update.
Host Dave Ahlers met with Kiewit Project Manager Steve Gustwiler for a last look at progress on the lobby, community arena, main arena bowl, video scoreboard, suites and press box. Crews are currently performing the finish work on the fan areas, lockerrooms and other back-of-house areas.
Ahlers also spoke with longtime hockey analyst Terry Leahy to get his impressions of the new home of UNO hockey, men's and women's basketball and volleyball.
The arena will host its first game on Oct. 23 when the hockey team plays Air Force. There will be several smaller events prior to that opening weekend.
