Ahrens Named Summit Track & Field Athlete of Week

ELMHURST, Ill. – Sophomore Stephanie Ahrens was named the Summit League's female indoor track & field athlete of the week on Tuesday.
Ahrens earned the nod after posting a mark of 5-08 in the high jump at the Wildcat Invitational at Kansas State on Jan. 9. It's the top mark in the league this season and is tied for 27th-best in the NCAA.
Ahrens is the first Maverick to win the weekly honor since she also was recognized in December of 2014, the first award of her career.
The Mavericks are back in action at the USD Open hosted by South Dakota on Saturday, Jan. 16.
