Stepp's Record Day Paces Mavs at League Meet

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Omaha swimming & diving team finished day three at the 2016 Summit League Swimming & Diving Championships Friday at IU Natatorium, capping the day in fifth place with 278 points.
For the second consecutive day, junior Morgan Stepp added her name to the Omaha record books. The Parker, Colo., product strung together three record performances Friday. In the 400 IM, Stepp finished fourth with a record-breaking time of 4:23.18. She also put together a historic performance in the time trials, where she clocked in a school-record time of 55.23 in the 100 fly.
In the 400 medley relay, the foursome of Stepp, senior Natalie Renshaw, junior Meredith Ricks and sophomore Olivia McLain tied the school record in the event, finishing fourth with a time of 3:49.99.
Freshman Grete Baker swam to a sixth-place finish in the 100 fly, as the Northfield, Minn., native finished in a time of 57.63 – the second-fastest time of the year for Omaha.
Renshaw garnered a fifth-place finish in the 200 free en route to a season-best time of 1:51.65. Ricks swam to a 12th-place performance in the 100 back while finishing with a season-best time of 57.86.
Omaha concludes the Summit League Championships on Saturday, Feb. 20. Action begins with the preliminary events at 10 a.m. (CT), while the finals are slated to get underway at 5 p.m. (CT). Links to live stats will be available on OMavs.com.
