
Eight Personal Bests Highlight Indoor Regular Season Finale

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Omaha track & field team notched eight personal bests at the Nebraska Tune-Up in Lincoln. It was the Mavericks' final meet before the Summit League Championship.
In running events, sophomore Alexis Allgood and freshman Daylee Olson set personal bests in the 400 meters. Allgood finished with a time of 1:00.62 and Olson had a time of 1:01.07.
Freshman Mads Nelson scored a personal best in the mile with a time of 5:32.17, topping her previous best by four seconds.
Two Mavs set personal records in the 3,000 meters. Senior Perla Gutierrez had the best race of her Maverick career, finishing with a time of 10:46.77, which eclipsed her previous high by 15 seconds. Junior Kourtney Osentoski also set a personal best in the event with a time of 11:18.39.
Freshman Annie Catania raced to a personal best in the 5,000 meters with a time of 20:06.20.
Sophomore Stephanie Ahrens kept the personal record string going by setting a career best in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.93 seconds.
In the field events, freshman Anna Edet set a personal best in the weight throw with a toss of 49-7 ¼. Her throw was the top throw by a Maverick this season.
Next weekend, the Mavericks travel to Fort Wayne, Ind. for the Summit League Indoor Championships on Feb. 26 and 27.
