Mavs Finish Fifth With Stepp's Record Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Omaha swimming & diving team closed its team portion of the 2015-16 season at the Summit League Championships at IU Natatorium Saturday, finishing the meet in fifth place with a final score of 424 points.
For the third consecutive evening, Morgan Stepp cleared a school record. The junior from Parker, Colo., used a dominating performance in the 200 fly to finish third en route to a medal. Stepp touched the wall at 2:01.84, crushing her previous school record of 2:04.06 set in 2014. In total, Stepp broke five school-records on the weekend (200 fly, 400IM, 200IM,100 fly and 400 medley relay).
Freshman Kylie Vermeire notched the third-fastest 1,650 free time in school history, as the freshman out of Marshall, Minn., touched the wall at 17:23.73, which was also her best mark of the season
Junior Meredith Ricks also finished ninth in the 200 back, notching a season-low time of 2:03.81.
Omaha swimmers will now await selections to the 2016 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships. The event will take place in Atlanta, Ga., March 16-19.
