
Derickson Named to Academic All-League Team

ELMHURST, Ill. – Junior Taryn Derickson was named to the Summit League Women's Indoor Track and Field Academic All-League Team the league announced on Wednesday. Derickson was one of 24 athletes named to the team.
The junior out of Bellevue, Neb. has a 3.77 GPA while majoring in Neuroscience. Derickson is the first track and field athlete to be named to the All-Summit League Academic team since Sami Spenner earned the honor in 2014.
Derickson earned All-Summit League honors in the high jump with her first place finish at the Summit League Indoor Championship. She had a season best jump of 5-05 ¾.
To be eligible for The Summit League Academic All-League team, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.30 (on a 4.0 scale), completed at least one full academic year at the current institution and participated in 50 percent of their team's competitions. The men's and women's indoor track and field all-league teams are made up of the 10 student-athletes receiving the most votes with all ties standing.
Omaha opens its outdoor season at the Tulsa Duels in Tulsa, Okla. on Mar. 18-19.
