SORRENTO, Fla. – The Omaha women's golf team took 20th place at the Morehead State Citrus Classic on Wednesday at the Red Tail Golf Club.
The Mavericks shot a final round team score of 330 to finish at 984. Western Kentucky, Elon and James Madison all tied for the team lead at 899 and were declared co-champions.
Katie Kesti was UNO's top finisher both in round three and for the tournament. She carded a score of 79 on Tuesday to finish at 241, good for a tie for 87th overall.
Megan Vetrovsky was second for the Mavericks and tied for 96th overall with a score of 244 that included a final-round tally of 84. She finished three strokes ahead of teammate Jordan York who tied for 101st at 247. York shot 85 in the final round.
Mandy Boyle fired a final round score of 82 to finish at 254, putting her 112th. Makenna Kroeker finished the scoring with a total score of 275, including a third-round card of 91.
The Mavericks return to action at the Saluki Invitational at Southern Illinois on Sunday and Monday, March 27-28.
