PEORIA, Ill. – The Omaha women's golf team took 10th place in the weather-shortened Bradley Spring Invitational on Sunday.
The Mavericks finished with a 36-hole team score of 670. The tournament was originally supposed to be a 54-hole event but was shortened when high winds on Saturday forced the golfers off the fairways of Weaver Ridge Golf Course.
Host Bradley won the tournament with a score of 614, easily outdistancing second-place Loyola at 642. Indiana State was third at 649.
Megan Vetrovsky led the Mavericks and finished in a tie for 16th in the field of 78 golfers with a total of 161 that included rounds of 82 and 79. All of the teams finished the first round on Sunday and immediately played the second round.
Katie Kesti was three shots back at 164 after carding rounds of 81 and 82. She finished in a tie for 21st. Jordan York was third for the Mavericks and tied for 51st with rounds of 90 and 84 for a score of 174.
Mandy Boyle was one stroke behind York after shooting 86 and 89 for a total of 175, good for a tie for 58th. Makenna Kroeker completed the tournament at 176 after shooting 86 and 90.
Katelyn Strudthoff, playing as an individual, shot 193 in her first tournament of the season.
The Mavericks are back in action at the Jan Weaver Invitational at Murray State on Friday and Saturday, April 8-9.
