Gordon To Represent Omaha at NCAA Regionals

OMAHA, Neb. – Freshman Kevin Gordon will be the Omaha men's golf team's qualifier for the NCAA Regional that begins Monday, May 16 in Stillwater, Okla.
Gordon earned his way into the regional by winning the Summit League Championship on May 3. He closed the tournament with a final round score of 68 to finish at 216, even par for the tournament, to best the field of 45 golfers.
Gordon also was named the Tournament MVP and a member of the Summit All-Tournament Team for his efforts. His final round score tied a team season best and his total score was the second best 54-hole score shot by a Maverick this season.
For the year, Gordon finished fourth in team scoring with a stroke average of 77. His medalist finish at the Summit Championship was the only one for the Mavericks this season and one of two top-five individual finishes.
The Stillwater Regional is being held at Karsten Creek Golf Club which will be a par-72 layout playing at 7,418 yards. Players will tee off on Monday and Tuesday at 8 a.m. with Wednesday's final round beginning at 7:30 a.m.
