Mavericks Shine with Spring Grade Report

OMAHA, Neb. – Omaha Athletics' all student-athlete grade-point average was 3.37 for the spring 2016 semester, another in a string of standout performances by the Mavericks in the classroom.
Since the fall of 2012, the Mavericks have not failed to earn a collective grade-point average of 3.3 or better, highlighted by an all-time best of 3.43 in the spring of 2014.
This spring, 219 of UNO's 276 student-athletes, 79 percent, earned a GPA of 3.0 or better while 133 of those athletes (49 percent) were named to either the Dean's List (3.5 GPA or better) or the Chancellor's List (4.0).
For the second consecutive spring, women's tennis led all teams with a collective 3.785 GPA. Of the team's 11 student-athletes, seven made the Dean's List and three more earned Chancellor's List honors (91 percent of the roster).
Volleyball was a close second with a 3.757 GPA followed by softball at 3.690.
Hockey had the highest men's team GPA and tied with swimming & diving for fourth overall at 3.510.
Swimming, with UNO's largest roster (37), had 18 athletes on the Dean's List and two on the Chancellor's List. Cross Country/Track & Field, with a roster of 28, had five members of the Chancellor's List, best among all UNO teams.
